The word news is an amalgamof four letters  N, E, W and S  which stand for north, east, west and south respectively. THE PLACE OF WOMEN IN FREE INDIA

Women in remote past in india enjoyed full freedom and had equal rights with men .During the middle ages, due to Muslim and Moghul influence, they were kept in purdah and with in the four walls of the house. They were not given prorer education  and were treated almost likes slaves. They had no freedom,no rights and their most sacred duty was to obey blindly. During the british rule there was no change in their position .After independence, things have started changing but , in some respects, they are still regarded in the same old way. No one feels happy at the birth of the female child in the house. A daughter is still regarded as a burden as the parents will have to arrange for a big dowry at her marriage . After marriage they have to face all sorts of problems. Even educated and modernised husbands do not allow their wives as much freedom as they required.
Gradually the things are changing and improving. Women are given equal rights with men and they are started taking their due place in the society. In free India, they are marching ahead in the field of education and professional training . There is no distinction made in respect of the education of boys and girls .  No fields of education are taboo for women .They are being trained for medicine , engineering , technology, commerce, industry and for almost all other fields.
The constitution of  free India has given women equal rights of voting and fighting elections with men .This clearly shows that they are free to participate in political as well as social affairs of the country.

Reckless driving thrills but kills

Driving is a pleasure, but reckless driving is a killer.Speed thrills but it kills. But who cares? Today our roads are fast becoming a theater of madening public behaviours with motorists becoming more and more intolerant and reckless. A number of accidents occurs daily and this number is increasing everyday. Most of the drivers of trucks and buses drive under the influence of liquor, especially at night. Car drivers also do not lag behind. Consequently there is a spurt in accidents, which would have beeen avoided , had the driver been sober. In these accidents hundreds of people die everyday---Mothers lose their sons, sisters lose their brothers and wives their husbands. Hundred of students become orphans. But nobody pays attention to this tragic reality. And as for the cops, it is an everyday affair . The government  should act tough  in this  and take effective measures to control reckless driving. Those who drive their vechiles recklessly should be caught and put behind bars. The drivers should be taught the value  of human life . They should be made to respect the rules of the road. All  vechicles must be periodically checked for their road worthiness.

IMPORTANCE OF PRAYERS

Prayers is not something we demand or ask from God .Prayer is a way of communicating with God by expressing  what is within one's heart and talking to Him about it. Through prayers, God comes to know how much you love him .If you are just asking for your desires in the prayers, it does not show your love for God .We should pray everyday to thank God for the wonderful life given to us by him. We should look at all the positive things in our lifeand not crib about the negative side. When God sees that the prayer offered by the devotee is full of love and faith,He too will take care of him/ her.
So, take time out from your busy schedule, and for a while pray to God.

MYSTERY OF HISTORY.....................................

Whenever i open my History Book.
It changes my fece's look.
There are so many dates to remember .
One died in May;and one in December.
When was the battle of panipat faught?
In which class was it taught?
When was India under British rule?
Where whites smart and Indian's fools?
By whom was the peacock throne taken?
And the whole empire shaken.
Who was the prehistoric man ?
Mystery teaches us many things.
Knowledge about past, it surely brings,
Though the subject Mystery tells us tales of yore,
But good marks in it we score...
